Ode to Grease

I was a child when I saw something wild,
A movie called Grease and it put me at ease.
It got me excited (a feeling I invited) as
I learned a new lesson with each viewing session.

In the halls of Rydell, the T-Birds were cool.
Pink Ladies were hot and they ruled the school.
I saw Sandy and Danny struggle with romance,
I watched him screw her over at the high school dance.
I learned about sex through Rizzo and Kenickie:
He tossed out the rubber and she sported a hickey.
Frenchy got her name by the way that she kissed.
Sunny was the T-Bird that always got dissed.
Annoying Patti Simcox was a really hard sell
As student body vice-president of Rydell.
Putzie was blonde, Jan thought she was fat
And Frosty Palace burgers weren't even all that.
Old Vince Fontaine made a young Marty wary
Admitting her name, "Maraschino", as in cherry.
I learned peer pressure could prompt one to smoke
As I watched poor Sandy take one drag then choke.
A love-struck Danny turned jock to reform
Then later realized he'd never be norm.
In Grease life was fun, since there's always a song
Provided that everyone was getting along.
When I was a child I grew a little bit wiser
Through Grease directed by Randall Kleiser.
