SAN FRANCISCO -- Cubby Creature Brian Weaver reported to the Cubby Control news center that he had questioned the validity of the recent Cubby news item about the safe arrival home of the Ascension Giraffe and launched his own personal investigation. Plagued by attempts of sabotage by the anti-Cubby Council of Yuddle, including even being kidnapped along with the rest of The Cubby Creatures before one of their shows, Weaver says that he has become increasingly suspicious of Cubby-related matters that seem the least bit strange to him.

Weaver reports that he found "some weird things" in the Ascension Giraffe article: "Well, first, I'd never heard of the Tina Times or this Claude Oswald character. Second, in the article Oswald says he's on California time, even though he's from Tennessee. And third, supposedly the Ascension Giraffe is said to have arrived safely home on July 17, 2004, yet the article was written in June."

Weaver contacted Cubby publicist Roderick Hairbrux, author of the original Ascension Giraffe article, who verified that he did, indeed, write the article and conducted his own research. Hairbrux, Weaver accounts, admitted the discrepancies in the article were strange, but true, and explained that Oswald is originally from California and uses the expression "on California time," all the time in Nexus, Tennessee. And regarding the fact that the Ascension Giraffe arrived home to the World of Tina a month after the article was written, Hairbrux assured Weaver that that was no typo. As a Tina Times subscriber, Hairbrux knows that "Tina time takes place along a different time continuum from ours, but the two worlds have overlap moments in which they come within a month of each other...and that's when the Ascension Giraffe flies."

Weaver says that after talking to Hairbrux, he is certain there was no Yuddle foul play. "I'm sure Roderick wouldn't lie about this," Weaver explained. "If he says it's real, then I have no doubts about it. But I do have to get him to explain the time continuum part to me, 'cause I just don't get it."
