SAN FRANCISCO - A source close to the Cubby Creatures has reported that they will begin recording a
new full-length album with Elton Ridge of Rodent Records this December. The new album is slated to be
released sometime in the spring or summer of 2003. No Cubby Creatures were available for comment, most likely because they were all busy preparing for their big show this weekend at the Cafe du Nord, but the source, who wishes to remain anonymous, told us that the recording will be done at the new Rodent Records rehearsal space in Potrero Hill. Elton Ridge was also unavailable for comment, because his band is also preparing to play this weekend with The Cubby Creatures. The Cubby Creatures have released only one other full-length album in their five-year "career." That is "The Blessed Invention" which was released in 2000. They have, however, released an EP, Who Remembers Kathy Barra? (also on Rodent Records), two singles, Make Your Own Song and three sides of cubby (to be released this Saturday), and a Christmas tape, A Very Cubby Christmas, not to mention the three embryo compilations that were assembled by Cubby Creature bassist Brian Weaver. |
