Make Your Own Song began as a song, without lyrics. Then there was the idea that the song could be recorded instrumentally and CDs of the song could be given out at Cubby Creatures shows and people would be encouraged to write their own lyrics and come on stage and sing those lyrics along with the Cubby Creatures playing the song. And then there was the idea that the files of the individual recorded tracks of the song could be given to those who know how to mix music and were in possession of their own mixing software, and they could create their own mixes of the song, or even their own song entirely, hardly resembling the original. And it was good.
And so it came to pass that people wrote lyrics and created their own mixes, and a few even came out and sang on stage with the Cubby Creatures. But then the Cubby Creatures disbanded, and the Web site became neglected, and people stopped contacting the Cubby Creatures. So now it is reborn under the care of Cubby Control Records, and always of the Cubby, and we encourage to
